"The Wink" and "Flaming" are obviously costumes, but I'm wondering if "Pride" was really a native American in traditional garb, or was that a costume as well? And I don't know if it was intentional or not, but the American flag behind him was an interesting touch.

The fact that "The Wink" is winking right at you makes it a great shot in my book.

Very nice photos.

Yes the flags were intentional, but I missed more that I took. Too crowed to maintain the angle and I had disturbed young lady behind me poking me with her crutch. I guess I was in her way after she sat down. I had leave after that, I just can't stand people who think their entitlements are great than anyone else's.

Here is one more that lined up, but missed the faces.

Oh and yes true Native Americans in the parade.

Sort of what I imagine Elton John's wedding might look like.

Too bad you missed the gaze on that one, but obviously happy fellows. I like the furry cleavage.

Did you get any with audience interaction or laughing/shocked people? It's always good to see what a good time people/families have at such events.

Yes everyone had a good time, well except for the protester. Very hilarious to see some couples using them as background props for their photos. I'm not sure why people go just to protest and rain on someone's parade, but everyone has rights and privileges we must all respect. I'm not really the political type but it seems to me we're always saying "do unto others" until it goes against our beliefs, morales or just because so conveniently. Sorry I was on a high horse and it hurts when I fall.

Gay Pride events, like most holidays/parades, are a commemoration of a major even in history--the beginning of liberation and freedom.

In this case, it's commemorating the Stonewall Riots:

Nice separation of background .... quite sharp considering the subjects were moving.

Thanks Melvin. The main challenge I had was the high noon sun coming 90 degrees from the left. I was surprised how well the auto exposure compensated.
