p.1 #1 · Sold: Canon 70-200/2.8 IS

This listing is back on now that I'm back in town.

For sale to someone in the CONUS is a used Canon 70-200/2.8 IS for $1350, which includes UPS Ground shipping to the CONUS and any paypal fees. Email is best way to contact me, but I will check my PMs as well.

Just serviced by Canon (story below), sharp, focus is exact and fast, comes with hood, tripod mount ring, and caps (sorry no box or manual). There are signs of wear on the hood and tripod mount ring (not the original ones that came with lens - again see story below) but they are not representative of the overall condition of the lens.

Story: I bought this lens about a month ago from someone (not on FM). It arrived broken (errors, etc) and without the tripod collar or the hood. After some ridiculous debate between myself and the seller I eventually agreed to send it in to Canon for repair on his dime (I just wanted to return it to him, but he refused). Canon fixed it up perfectly (I can send you a copy of the repair report - they warranty the work for a year) and sent it back to me and the lens works fantastic now. It seems really SHARP to my eye and focuses perfectly on my lone remaining Canon body, a 1DIIN.

That's right, I say my lone remaining Canon body because during all of this time I spent dealing with this seller and waiting on Canon, I decided I was switching to Nikon (something that I was considering for some time before all this happened). Hence this lens is for sale. If I wasn't making the switch I would never be selling this lens it works great now and I don't use the tripod mount ring anyway. However, since I decided I would sell this lens I picked up a used tripod mount ring and a hood, because I didn't think people would buy one without them. The tripod mount ring shows a LOT more use than the lens itself but they are hard to find for a reasonable price (Canon wants $160 for them which is absurd).

Bottom line: 1350 for a recently serviced Canon 70-200/2.8 IS with hood, tripod mount ring, and caps, including UPS Ground shipping to the CONUS and any paypal fees.

Thanks,
Chris

Also (verify with seller of this lens) but Canon provides a 6-month warranty from the date of the repair, be sure to get the Canon service note.

I'll definitely include the Canon service note then.

Still available, offers lower than the listed price are not being accepted at this time. If that changes I'll be sure to post that info to this thread.

To be clear, the price of $1375 includes insured shipping via UPS Ground (probably a $20-30 value depending upon your location) and the PayPal fees (about a $40 value). Essentially the price of the lens is $1300 + shipping and fees.

Sorry, John, not interested in any Nikon gear at this time. I've acquired already what I'll be acquiring for the time being.

Still available.

The date code looks like (it's faint for some reason) US0305 ... making it a 2004 lens, which sounds about right from what I know from the original owner. Serial # starts with 247 if that means anything to you.

I should add that I'm going out of town on Friday for about a week, so this offer will be withdrawn Thursday if it hasn't sold by then.
