(As an aside, we raise and release these wonderful birds. They will stick around the house for several months before heading out. They make for a wonderful addition to the backyard wildlife. A couple of acres is all you need)

Beautiful find Andy! You captured them so well. Congrats!! for the dedicatons!! How long was it from the time of pairing up to the hatching of the little ones?
-Quang
Quang,
I am not sure of the exact day when they hatched, but I think a couple of months passed between the time they were started to make mating calls and the time I saw the chicks walking around with daddy.
Thank you for the supporting comment.

Awesome Andy! However I believe that you understated how hard it is to get close to quail. Combined with the chicks, job very well done!
Hi Jon,
Thanks for such a nice comment. I really appreciate it. Most people don't realize how hard it is to even see one, not to mention getting a close up picture of it.

Wonderful photos, Andy. Gorgeous birds!! Thanks for sharing the shots and the story - very interesting.
Thank you JJ. What attracted my attention to the Quail was the hair plume on its forehead. Even the chick has one, I'm guessing it's a male. Glad you liked it.
