since it sounds as if you already have canon glass, why not get an slrC? if you wish to use nikon optics as well, get an adapter.
Caveats: nikon-kodaks come in two versions the later one,14n, is very much better . I havent used the nikon version, but search the dpi forums for info.
The canon mount version is grafted on to the substandard sigma body, but at 160 ASA the sensor is superb, due to its lack of the softening anti-alias filter. yes it takes time to store files, but has the capacity to digest the results of shooting 3 shots +- 1 stop each in rapid sequece to do HDR. The battery is not particularly long lived if you leave it in the camera, but just pull it out once you have finished for the day, and the camera cannot drain it ion order to find out what time it is etc..
Jpeg is not worthwhile. the raw format can be read by adobe ps. the kodak "photodesk" software is less versatile but in some ways more convenient.
Unfortunately kodak does not stand by its products and have abandoned the camera and the software. Win-XP and Vista can handle kodaks software, but there are problems with win 7. linux \gimp can also handle the raw files.
