I am one of those who is sitting on the HDR fence. When it is well done, I really like. Most HDR images look garish and contrasty, which I personally don't like. The beauty of photography is each to his/her own.

I really like the composition, but think the contrast is a bit too much in the foreground. What I am impressed with is the nice transition between the sky and trees. There are no halos, which is one thing I do not like about HDR.

Welcome to WA board.

Cheers, BLR

There is a bit of blur on this one, I assume because it was hand-held? I also think its just a tad oversaturated, particularly around the grass area. But nonetheless its a great image! Definitely one of my favorites for this week's theme.

this is my favourite in the landscape assignment, I disagree on one comment made earlier about the road pulling me in to the sunset. Your eye will be drawn to the largest hot spot (white area of a scene first) when viewing the image for the 1st time. Your exposure for an HDR though is very good. To the last comment on what is HDR? Simply stated film has a 10 stop latitude in its range, slide film is around 7 stops and digital around 5 stops. In order to duplicate the range of tones in digital capture to compare with film then a scene is photographed a few additional times at different exposures and the images are layered together in software which will blend them together to create a greater tonal range for the image. Google HDR there is lots of information on this topic.
