Nice shots, but I believe your SKILL is more than the lens itself.
I am debating if I should buy the lens now even I know that I may not use it enough, but just want it due to my experiences from the 200/1.8L and Nikon 200/2.0 VR.
Any 200/2.0L IS owners have shots of sexy models with this lens, note just the birds ? lol....

Thank you, Lide, the lens is really a very fine tool that has helped me already get many pictures I enjoy.
It would be good if one can use the current $500 rebate. The lens would really shine in your masterly hands.
I think the 200 f/2 is all around a better performer than the 200 f/1.8 and 200 f/2 VR because of its lower weight/balance, faster AF and superb IS.
You can think of it as the 300 f/2.8 IS performance level pushed a notch or two higher.

jhartman, for some reason that shot really doesn't, and I mean DOESN'T work for me. The way it blurs away = not a fan. But I appreciate the quality of the lens. Just an incredible piece of glass, and so ass-achingly heavy (and expensive!).

Let us try to keep this thread alive with your new 200 f/2 IS images.........which should be rather useful for owners and non-owners alike. The lens is still relatively new and operating feedback on it has been scarce. I myself have not used the lens nearly as much as I would have liked to. Other little photography projects, new gear testing etc. have diverted my time away from it.
However, tonite I managed to get a few shots with the 200 f/2 IS, some of which I'd like to share.
The AF conditions of the first shot are kinda interesting. That's an enlargement 50% crop. The target is a smaller fast flying bird, of low contrast pattern/colours, there is a rather "busy" background as well as an overall low light level. I was actually surprised the rig focused at all. Unless you have tried something similar with sufficient frequency, you may wish to take my word for it.......this is the shooting domain of two-three real fast telephoto lenses only.....135L and 200 f/2 IS come to mind first and foremost.
