p.1 #1 · C & K's Wedding

It was the only day of the week when it didn't rain. It rained a little in the morning, which was driving the bride crazy, but by noon, the weather was just awesome. Very nice couple helps to do the job as well! C & C more than welcome!

Nice to see you posting some pix Victor... always a treat.
Hard to say which I like better with 6 and 7. I think maybe 7?
Love the lines in 10 and its looks like you caught a special moment in #18.
All the best mate.

I LOVE her dress!

Not much to say about this set - I feel like it's really strong. You have a beautiful bride and beautiful location and it looks like you made the most of it. FWIW, I can't decide between the color and BW shot, either. I like them both!

Great framing, great moments, nice editing - well done!

Number one is beautiful I love the texture on it. I love the toning on 6, perfect! 11 seems very cold maybe warm the tones up just a bit? 12 is amazing, now thanks to you he will have a perfect photo of the look she gave him when they got married, priceless! What a fun wedding, the others are solid but these are the ones that caught my eye.

Victor man - amazing series. The texture work is so different from what some others do. I absolutely love your use of natural light and your detail shots are gorgeous. You have a certain crispness in your pictures. We should definitely get together and shoot a gig man.

These are really nice dude. 1, 3, and 11 are my fav. I like 7 better myself, I would just selectively bring up the exposure slightly on everything but the dress. Good work as usual. Your approach was nice, and you seem to have gotten a good mix of everything.

Nice job! Very strong and consistent work.

1. A nice wooden hanger would have made this even better.
7. I definitely like this one over 6.
11. I agree with Ardent that this looks cold. In combination with her expressionless face, it makes her look dead.
12. Very nice candid.
13. Was this also candid? Or did you pose them Jerry Ghionis style? Nice either way.

Realy nice set. #7 - would straighten out the distortion a little myself.

Love #11 photographically but her expression is a bit sombre!.

These look really nice, I'm sure the couple will be very happy. Nice mix of techniques too. Nothing looks overdone. The lady in 17 on the left looks out of place, maybe a tighter crop and some cloning? I love 11 ecxept the expression on her face, but thats not entirely your fault. The eyes in 4 are great, soo sharp.

BK - Thanks man! It's always nice to hear your suggestions.

DB - You are adorable! Thanks for the comments!

Ardent - Regarding #11, I am a warm colors person myself, tried to do something more dramatic. I will definitely give it a try in different PP. Thanks!

Saad - Thanks my friend! Gig together? One of those awesome traditional weddings you shoot all the time? How much do I pay for the workshop? Anytime man! We definitely should do that! Would be friggin awesome!

Sahid - Thanks bud! I'll try your suggestion on #7. Thanks for the blog love! You're Da Man!

kungfoodism - I know exactly what you mean about the hanger. The only wooden hangers they had were with the clips for pants.
I'll try a different version for #11. 13 was a candid, but I do a lot of pics that look like a candid, just like I taught Jerry Ghionis to do it!

I dig these as I always do your work Victor. I'm gonna go against the grain and say that the texture work needs some revisiting. It is too obvious in some of these. I'm gonna assume it was a texture of a cardboard or a grocery bag. If I'm right then it proves the opacity should be reduced some.

The thing about Gabe and JasonT's texture work is that it doesn't seem to be there. Mystery to me how they go about doing it so seamlessly but it's where one should aim.

That said, ALL the shots are well composed, well lit, well exposed, well everything. 13 and 18 are awesome images.

The lighting on #8 is just super. I saw that it's a bright sunny day but you managed to keep the white on the gown without blowing, like in #9, awesome job. Great series for me to learn from. Thanks for posting.

Good point Sam! Still trying to learn to use textures right and decide if I actually like them or not. I think I like it, just need to try different things before I get better I guess.

Thanks again guys!

Hate the dress and the shoe pictures. They are so cliche that the downside of the invocation disrobes the really great photos that follow.

The outside pictures are fantastic - the colour is correct and the photography strong enough that you clearly do not need - and have the confidence to disregard - the usually cheesy "post processing and RAD" sets.

The learning moment for me and the world is the power that great white balance lends these beautiful moments.

Thanks for the comments Red!
Regarding the dress and shoe shots, the client is going crazy about those. She says: she's never seen such beautiful pictures of the dress, rings, and shoes! We as photographers see those every day, making them cliche to us, but for clients, it's the first time in their life experience.
I was debating using texture on those shots, and showed many regualar people with and without version. All seem to like the textured version. Go figure.

Strong set. Anyone notice the pole growing out of her head in #9?

Of 6/7 I like 7 the best. For some reason the green color adds to it.

Overall I like how you've processed these seemingly "straight up" and let the images speak for themselves. I strive to accomplish this myself (except when I go all crazy with the B&W toning )
