Wee, excellent use of flare! It's not just there; it *makes* the photo. As an aside, I think your son has outgrown that study desk. Time for an upgrade!

Interestingly, these 20mm or thereabouts lenses all have this red ring. The Leica 19, OM 21/3.5, CV 20/3.5. What's up with that?

The red ring only appears at full aperture. It will disappear once it is stopped down.
Thanks for pointing out. Will get him a proper study chair and table.

FWiw I think the Oly 21 red ring is alot nicer than that cv 20 red ring... ;-P

must be an aberration from reflection off the edge of an internal element or something like that.

Rokkor red ring aint bad either ;]

Not as defined but I reckon it suits the picture.

One thing that impressed me about this shot is the quite good veiling glare performany of the rokkor wide open. lesser lenses would have cried pitifuly in this situation methinks
