p.1 #1 · Hi all, looking for some C&C

Here's a shot I took this morning, just looking for some thoughts. Thanks in advance, Dan.

- it is a bit soft
- the composition is not strong. I cannot tell wether the picture was about the tree or the reflection of the tree or the sky or the foreground. Pictures are generally stronger if they emphasis one item an use the others to complement. Here you have sky, tree and reflection in equal amounts of space which confusess the point. in addition the tree is pretty centred.

Landscapes are best if you have a tripod, remote shutter release, mirror locked up and wait a bit after mirror up before shooiting. Softness may still occur because of wind with a long exposure. If the tree is the subject I think it needs to be sharp which suggests upping the iso to the maximum that will stop the motion.

Thanks for sharing. Scott

Thanks Scott, good points. I did notice the softness as well after I posted it. I was kind of in a hurry when I did so. I will try another and see what happens. Thanks again, Dan.

I find the reflection distracting. The simplicity of the silo on the sky works for me, and the softness with this crop works as well.
