I had the extreme pleasure of enjoying, for about an hour, Corcoran Gallery of Art's new installation for the Corcoran Portrait Project ( http://www.corcoranportraitproject.com/ ) while visiting the Avedon exhibit for the third time (the booth had not been there the previous two visits). After looking at the installation, it made me think, it must be easy to dissect the actual unit. Its based off a digital slr (canon), and tethered to a bank of computers where you can find your image and email it to yourself.
There are two lcds on the unit, a small 7-10" unit on the front to see your picture before you take it, and a back lcd about 18-20" that show the terms and conditions. There's also a cd drive which leads me to believe it may contain a small mac mini type computer. Any one have any ideas? Pictures of the unit itself can be found here:
