Decided to take the plunge on a 5DII a couple of weeks ago. Took it out a few nights ago and gave it a little workout. Did some 30 second exposures at iso 800. Better IQ than I had expected. Very nice color right out of the camera.

Sweet shot Klaus, that lead-in is great. Obviously way too small to tell, but I'd never guess this was at 800 and 30 sec. How does the 100% look? I've got a 6 minute shot at 100 on the board now and the file is very clean. There's some color noise in the shadows that ACR easily took care of, but otherwise I'm very pleased.

The geometry in this composition is lovely, the clouds and foreground rocks is what I'm referring to

I just got my 5DII today, can't wait to start using it, so far things look great!

Hard to tell from the little jpeg, but it does look clean. And I do like the color it produced. Pretty good for a 21mp sensor. Nice and interesting exposure also Klaus.

lol, yes? Keep in mind this is an 800 px shot that's been compressed for the web...which means it's entirely worthless as any sort of rubric to judge the performance of a camera.

Uh, of course you're seeing a gradient sky. It's lighter where the sun's going down and darker away from the horizon.

Do you mean posterized? I don't see that...
