p.1 #1 · Flash Question

I have a Canon 40D and 1D.
I have a Canon 580EX II and Sunpak 622 Pro flash units.

I have used the Sunpak with both connected to the hot shoe using a Wein
Safe Sync because voltage difference.

I would like to use my 580EX II in the hot shoe and the Sunpak 622 pro on a stand connected with a 15' sync cord to the pc sync terminal on either camera.

Do I still have a problem with voltage difference this way, or does the problem arise when using the hot shoe?

If the 622 has a high trigger voltage you need the Safe Sync between it and the camera, I would assume the circuit is the same to the pc terminal and the hotshoe... Are you sure the 622 has a high trigger voltage?

I didn't think the Sunpak module for EOS worked with digital cameras, how are you using these two units together? (just curious).

I have been using it in manual mode, not with a dedicated TTL module.
I shot pictures of a drassage horse show in a covered arena and it worked great
out to about 125 feet. I would like to use it with the 622 shooting through an umbrella attached to the pc socket of my 40D with the my 580EX II in the hot shoe.
I have a 15' pc cord that would allow me to move around some. I do not know if the 622 has a high voltage trigger, I used the safe sync to be on the safe sdie. I will probable get an optical slave in the future. Where could I find out wheather or not the 622 has a high voltage trigger?

When I was checking out some of my older units I found a table online... google (didn't save the link). If you have a multimeter it isn't hard to check it yourself.
