Can someone please explain the differences between the two modes? I understand that AI Servo is used to adjust focus on items that are moving towards or away from you and I've used it with some success in the past, but I've never found anyone that could really explain to me AI focus and its differences from AI Servo. any help?
My understanding is that AI Focus, which is only available on the non-professional Canon bodies, operates as one-shot when the subject is static, and shifts into AI Servo if the subject moves.
So...AI Focus allows the camera to switch back and forth between One-shot and Servo, but manually switching between One shot and Servo on an as needed basis is recommended because Focus doesn't work so good... hmm...ok If that's true than I'll continue to use as I have.

Too often, it thinks a focus and recompose is subject movement.
If it were reliable, they'd put it on the professional cameras.
