Happy New year Dick

I'm not sure the cloth or backdrop in the flower shot ads to the image. I find it distracting.

Both bird images are a bit on the soft / Out of focus side to my eyes.

I'm wondering if you sharpened them in Post Process or if they maybe very heavy crops.

My comments are only meant to help.

Good luck and good shooting

Thanks ant. The backdrop in the first is the greenhouse covering. Should have blurred it or something. The birds are pretty heavy crops, but are a great improvement for me. Long way to go.

Hello Dick, can't go wrong including a flower IMO I agree with ANT which is never a good think but the BG is distracting and maybe more so due to its angle in this shot.

Glad to hear the birds are an improvement for you. Keep at it and let us know what you are doing to get to this point and perhaps we can speed you along a bit!

Take care, and keep sharing

purdy nice Dick, the junco is nice as is the finch.
Note that you are posting in Adobe RGB colorspace and web browsers
generally need sRGB conversion. Adobe RGB is a print colorspace.
Colors will be altered for many viewers.

Both show a lot of noise in the bg, but the colors are a nice touch.
Here is noise reduced on bg and not the finch....also toned him down a bit.

May or may not be to your taste, just an option
Looking good

Dick, I like your bird shots, but agree with the others here, and think they could be sharpened up a bit. I think the sparrow shot has wonderful colors!!! Nice work!!!

Karl, thanks I will ask for help.

Dave, I like that. Santa brought me CS4 and I can't get my old noise program to work with it. I thought I was saving in sRGB will check that out.

Brenton, I usually tend to oversharpen. I will keep working on it.

Thanks a lot guys. Really appreciate it. I will try some things and post a flower for ant and another bird.

Dick
