With my good friend Billy in town from Seattle we took a little day trip up into Indiana northwest of Bloomington, to Cataract Falls to hopefully catch some good light towards the end of the day and with a high thin cloud cover coming in we were able to get about a good two hours of scrambling around on the rocks next to the falls and take a few photographs. I hope you enjoy.
Wow, what wonderful photographs! All of them are fantastic, but number 1 has to be my favorite. Exposures are fantastic in all 4 images, but the composition of 1 and 4 really stand out.
I want to thank you all for viewing and making kind comments on this series. Shooting with Myweh (Billy) was a treat because we had not been able to get together since his moving out to Seattle this past fall. The only drawback to the day was that the longer we stayed and shot in the better light the colder it got until it chased us back to the truck for the trip back to Louisville.
All the shots were processed in Adobe Photoshop CS3

did you use the sigma 1.4?
Thank you for your comment. All the images were taken with a Nikkor 70-200 2.8, CPL, SinghRay .3 GND @ ISO 125
these are gorgeous. beautiful light. i especially like the first and last. wonderfully subdued, nuanced colors; it would have been easy to go over the top.
What an awesome series! I love the subtle blue color you have captured in the first. The last is my favorite as well. Did you take any images of the covered bridge while you were there?

Oh yes the covered bridge....I've been thinking of shooting that covered bridge a couple of times I've even walked around it a couple of times thinking of which view I would like to shoot, but i never seem get really excited about shooting this bridge. I've shot six other covered bridges in Indiana but this one just doesn't do it for me. My next bridge I'll shoot will probably be at Mansfield along with the grist mill.
The clarity of #1 is phenomenal, I don't think I have ever seen such wonderful clarity, and it is my favorite. I also love the last one, I agree with Ute's sentiments. Super images.
Beautiful series, K. I love your handling of the water; and the mix of ice and water in the first is a treat. The last one is a great composition with an almost mesmerising effect.
kevin, great snapshots dude haha. i had an awesome time getting back out there and shooting with you again. for a few hours, i'd say you/we came away with some good work. good thing you picked up that GND because it worked really well to get the right motion in the water. when i get back out to seattle, i will have to post some of the images i captured. good work bud.
