So I can't promise to ever be able to achieve the feel of the magical waters & light of my last thread - - so I'm back at making bad/silly jokes....
This is a series I took in December (mid) when my lurking friend Stephen & I met up with Kirk at Bolsa Chica. I've not posted anything from that day basically due to all the work we were doing in the house - and then I didn't get around to it. It was a cold & super windy day, with storm clouds over our heads most of the time. But we had fun.
So these are for amusement - - hopefully....
D300 & Sigmonster as always... oh and these are crops.
Hope you'll enjoy a tad...
Lil - wishes for Golden light & willing subjects for us all
Ahhhh... very nice Lil... I've been waiting to see some of your images from our play day.
Head-on shots are funny thinking of this little guy as a Sumo...
I really like the profiles... the Sigmonster really focuses some amazing detail onto your D300 sensor. Impressive.
Very nice job on the incoming NP... I got some departures but no arrivals.
Beautiful work as always, well done.
This Phoebe looks to be too cute to be called "Sumo" Phoebe. Where is that
HUGE rear? Nonetheless, you captured a personality of this Phoebe and I
think these are fine captures.

Hi Kirk,
I've just not gotten around to posting anything & fact is that I think the Phoebe shots are some of the sweetest shots I got from that day. The sun peeked out for a moment & there it was.
The Phoebe was so plum & then those tiny legs - - all I could think was Sumo.
I like the profiles best as well. Yes the Sigmonster is good to me. And the D300 is an amazing camera as you well know.
Thanks for the kind words & hope to see you soon down there.

Thank you Hide,
look at the stomach in the first shot. Now add the small head & tiny legs - - Sumo wrestler here you go.
Glad you enjoyed them. I was thrilled it sat down on the rock & stayed there for a few moments.
I saw these birds in Southern California over Xmas.
I am from Northern BC and could not identify them.
Thought they might be some sort of fly catcher.
What exactly are they.Thx Terry
