So I thought I'd try my hand at bikini shots for the first time. Bear in mind these were taken at MID-DAY in sunny Florida using only a 300D with stock lens and No flash whatsoever.
I know the shadow/highlight ratio could be improved (obviously) but any other critiques are very welcome!
The sepia is my favorite although it could use a little more headroom.
#2 has a rather odd (but certainly eye-catching ) juxtaposition of the knee.
Numbering the images would be helpful for comments.
Thank you for the tip eyeball!
She is a very distracting model and yes, that shot really does need headroom - unfortunately the ones with headroom didn't come out as well (booooo )
Cheers again!
Image #1 - although I love the idea of this image not sure you got it - horizon not straight - her eyes being closed bugs me - bright white drops of water I find distracting
Image #2 - clone out the left knee
Image #3 - looks soft - one foot distracts from image - don't mind the horizon not being straight
Image #4 - ok - nice grab image
Image #5 - love this one
Image #6 - PS out green in BG - although hate to say this wonder if a better h&s image with the breast cropped out
Image #7 - ok - maybe alittle less depth of field
These are great! BUT 3 and 4 look like crap next to 1 and 2. Almost looks like they're in aRGB b/c of the difference in saturation and contrast. Nice work.
Beautiful model. I'd like to throw out that the tilted horizon works in many instances. I think it works fine in these. I really like it in image three. The shot would be awesome if it were a tad sharper and the right hand made it into the frame. Keep photographing this lady.

I dig all the photos, great shots! I thought I needed expensive cameras and lenses to take great photos...
One thing though, I think you could just get a white cardboard and use it as a reflector, just to get some catchlights in her eyes so it's not all dark in there...
Huge thank you for all the suggestions, they are extremely helpful!
The model is actually one of my best friends so I'm sure we'll be shooting again soon - we have a lot of fun out there and she is great to practice on
I have more from the series, but ruled them out because of what I think are obvious technical errors. If interested however, look below as I know she is well received
I really like #7. The Black & White works well. She just looks very concerned about something...
In the second lot, the first is very nice, but I would have liked it a little less tightly cropped. Still, that doesn't stop it from being a great shot.
