Are you sure the fire is still out. I like this, it makes me think the thing is still on fire the way the tree is disfigured and the branches are reaching up like flames licking the sky for more oxygen and the way the tree is coming out of the ground. May be a bit too busy around it but I guess that adds to the feeling of the fire that is still there. Nice capture, I would have had to stop too.
The cycle of nature. We've had some pretty nasty fires here, too, and it's always interesting to watch the new growth. The woods are so powerful, but the fire is even more so, leaving them left looking so abandoned and fragile like this shot portrays.
Only crit would be that I would like to see the top of the tree. I wonder how the shot would look by taking a few steps back.
I am working on a series, and I hope to have it soon. There are some telling shots of how destructive this fire was...
I agree, watching the destruction on TV does not compare to being in the immediate area of the fires. You instantly realize the power of nature when walking within the fire zone.
For some reason, I do not have a photo that captures the top of this tree, but next time I shoot, I will pay attention to that - thank you for your comments.
