p.1 #1 · The Wickedness of Winter

Posted this in Landscape forum, but there is not much landscape to be commented on, being that I had done this on B/W, thought I would post here as well.

Lee,
I like the tree and shooting conditions here. Perhaps a bit of more processing on the image to make the tree "pop" out from the bg.

I agree with Klaus. Some curves to increase contrast, and possibly some sharpening on top. Check your histogram. Basically a good image with the depth of field on the shot.

Yeah, that's a great tree. Make that sucker "pop." Looks good otherwise.

p.1 #5 · The Wickedness of Winter

Thanks for the help all, I appreciate it and am trying to become better through it. Seems like I need to add contrast to a lot of my shots and hopefully I will learn the trick of adding the right amount the first time. Re-approached the pp on the shot and tried to make it "pop" without over-doing it, does this work, or not enough?

Thanks again

Second shot is much better. I really enjoy the image. Has that 'pop' without overdoing it. Also the composition of the tree...how everything fits so well inside the image. Thanks for sharing Lee!
