Thats a very cool shot tom. I`m wondering how much it actually needs the folafe in . Did you try a version done bilatersymetric with no plant life included? Might be crazy but I can imagine it done that way.
My initial statement sums up how I feel about this one. Disregard the later if it doesn`t make sense. Thanks for sharing. Take care. Bob

Another really cool Ir shot Tom.

I really like the 'high contrast look' that IR achieves. I think your subject is great. First of all, this little white boat is isolated very well with the dark sky, and the reflection in the water is a plus. I also like how it has a little foliage in the foreground to frame it an give it a better composition.

I'm curious about IR... I heard that you need longer shutter speeds to take photos. So do you always soot on a tripod or sometimes handheld?

Tim - I'm glad.

Bob - glad you like; no, I'm not sure what you mean.

eric - take longer? depends. if you shoot through a R72 red filter, yes, it takes longer. if you shoot through a IR-converted camera, it does not seem to take longer. plus shooting through a filter is a real big pain, but good to try if you are thinking of going to IR. I'd never (he says now) go back. Yes, I always shoot on a tripod. Tim, above, is a more experienced IR shooter and may or may not agree with this long note.

anyway, have a super holiday, tom
