Earlier today I shot one of the iconic images for L.A. photographers when winter storms dump snow on the mountains to the southeast of downtown.

I like the 2nd one. Where did you shoot this from? Somewhere around USC? By the way, the snow capped mountains are to the northeast of downtown.

I stand corrected - NOT southeast ;-)

I was at the Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area in the Baldwin Hills. At the highest point there is an overlook which is where everyone goes to photograph downtown when there is snow on the mountains.

#2 is far and away my favorite...cool shot. I'm jealous, I just moved out of LA...am in snowy UT now.

Where was this shot? I've been lucky enough to shoot on top of the Mudd building at USC a couple of years ago...this looks like a slightly different angle.

ah, just saw the comment...Kenneth Hahn is a great spot (when there's no smog)

I prefer #2 with the subtle colors, but a nice view of LA.
