i like your comp very much. the bridge coming out towards the eye (top LH corner) balanced out by walkway leading into picture (bottom RH side). in agreement with bob as well - i like the 'grit'. suits this picture quite well
Bob,
Thx.
Maybe a FixMeUp. Not sure. Image was taken in late October, early November. Its possible I posted it before. I did a bit more processing today (mostly adjusting the intensity of the duotones.
Is the lean of the building far right problematic or OK with this grundgy kind of image?
Scott
BTW, lets bring back the FixMeUp concept!

Bob,
I now know what you mean. Both are warehouses in Boston. The image above is close to the water in the North End, an Italian community near the harbor. Your memory is good, and the other image was taken in near the South End of Boston, in another abandoned warehouse.
Getting into the grunge and grit thingy. https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/592625/0#5239865

To me, the wedge at the right is a little troublesome - just checked and it is easily corrected in CS3. I think the effect is magnified by the frame - perhaps a different color frame would help?
I'm game for FixMeUp if I ever get off my butt and go take some captures...
Bee,
Thanks.
That piece of sky was really bothering me too.
The vertical is interesting.
BTW, this is not a place I would have explored on my own. Several Boston area FMers met up one very early Sunday morning back in late Oct. I think the image was taken by 8 AM or so. We wandered thru the Italian community of Boston's North End, and around, under and just south of the Zakim bridge (you've seen a couple versions of that here) and along some pretty run-down sections with great textures and graffit. Ending up with ricotta cheese pie (drier, tangier, really different from regular cheesecake) and cappucinos at Mike's Pastry. Highly recommended.

..Scott,.interesting but no cigar, right, Hahaha. I have to agree it takes away from this lovely decaying building.
Best, Bee
P.S. I looked at the link, Scott - great shots - I am very taken by the different perspective of the Zakim Bridge, you know, the one before the window shot. The only thing I would do with that is to clone out the green traffic signs in the far background - the bane of civilization!
The graffiti and rusty door etc. all are great....
They're all very interesting. My only gripe is the vignetting. Sometimes vignetting can really lend a lot to a photo but here I don't think its necessarily appropriate. Has the look of a ND filter in the wrong place sort of. Other than that good processing and interesting angles.
