p.1 #1 · RRS camera plates 5D mk2

I suppose there isn`t anything to take the place of the back ordered RRS camera plate that will fit their QR clamps??

Thanks

Dave

Well, you could check Kirk. You mean the L bracket?
I'm just waiting on the RRS backorder list for the 5DII.
A generic bar from RRS will work for landscape orientation.

Arca Swiss adapters seem to work fine.

does the RRS 5D MkI plate fit the Mk II? They can't be too different. It may not be perfect, but it could work in a pinch.

Well, Iv`e got a plate that was on my 1dsmk1 that is just a bit wider than the 5d2 needs and requires just a touch of filing where it touches under the lens throat but when tightened up it holds firm so I will see to it in the morning and use that till the the RRS plate is available.

Thanks all

the rrs 5d mk1 plate doesn't fit the mk2, as there is the plug for the battery grip interfering.

I used the plate that was on my !dsmk1, I had to file a small amount from the front lip where it fowled, I put some self adhesive pads on it , tightened it up and it works a treat.
It does cover the grip connections but no problems. I wait and see when the correct plate is in stock. Trouble is in the UK, by the time you buy it, pay shipping and then import duty and vat + UPS charges it starts to look a bit stupid.

What if you don't use the plug?
