I have the D and just bought the Sigma 50 and now I want the G! I have more 50 mm lenses than any other lenses. So the question is how many 50 mm lenses can I use at a time? ;-)

Just buy some bodies to go with them and you can run as many as you want all at once...

@ Sam

I really like the look of those first couple of shot, the boke is nice and interesting with out being overbearing. Hopefully sharpness wide open is at least close to the Sigma.

Thanks for sharing!

As you can also see, my home is rather antiquated, adorned in wood, even the walls

IMHO - the Siggy bokeh is much nicer.... these threads are really helping me decide between the two...

Sigma it is.

one can only judge bokeh in a shot of the exact same scene as distance completely changes the rendition.
I would like to see a back to back ... but again, it's only worthwhile with a controlled setup.

The sigma does look good though. Can you infiltrate in a shot with the same scene at f 5.6?

It's funny that you ask because we are actually in the same city. I'll see what I can do

Funny how the OOF lights in the middle of the frame have a polygon look, but those further away from the center do not. Maybe this isn't news to most, but I never realized there was such a difference. Or is that because of the distance from the camera? Some other variable? Just curious.

They both look like good glass. I love my Sigma 30mm f/1.4 on a dx cam, so I suspect the 50mm is just as good.

Thanx for sharing.

Do you think we worry too much about spectacular highlights sometimes? I mean, how often is that an issue?

I am beginning to think you are a Sigma rep as you keep putting down the New Nikon 50 here and at the Cafe. I am not a big fan of Sigma mainly because of QC. I don't want to spend extra money for the more expensive Siggy 50 (Siggy?) BUT you are making it difficult for me to pull the trigger on Nikon. Sooo... I just got the Siggy 30 and the 50 will be here soon too.
