p.1 #1 · 28-75 Tamron/2.8 DOF issue

I recently got this lens and played around a bit. The thing is extremely sharp, unfortunately only in the plane of focus. DOF does not extend beyond (both ways) the focus point no matter what f-stop. Am I doing something wrong?

Aperture must be stuck or electronics faulty. If the lens stopped down, the DOF *would* increase.

That frankly is impossible, do you have any examples.
