Very stark and dramatic, just like you'd expect from the aftermath of a forest fire. Well done

Rick - I really like your composition with the large area of sky. The grasses and wildflowers are coming back and look as though they are doing what they do best after a fire.

Great mono, Rick. Would have liked to see more of the foreground and a bit less sky.

Very dramatic scene Rick. I can feel like the skies are rushing across the sky.

Thanks to each of you for your comments. This fire occurred about eight years ago and, indeed, the grasses and the low vegetation are returning creating good browsing for deer.

You have managed to create a fantastic image out of great natural disaster.

I really like the composition as is. I Think it would be possible to make several fine images out of "subdivision crops" I'd love to see a crop of the bottom right quadrant. mike

Thanks for the suggestion, Mike. Here is one possibility.

I like the image, very strong....and the boldness of the trees is as striking as I imagined. I think because the original image is so bountiful that your possibilities are numerous. mike

Bold and dramatic. Striking image. Which way to go, after the disaster ? A question mirrored in the many directions taken by the clouds ?

Rick I always enjoy your work and use of minimalism perfected to a fine art .
Both versions are winners in my book. The first because I`m a sucker for big skys and the second because of the way you have zeroed in in the essention graphic elements of the composition. Very well done. take care. Bob
