p.1 #1 · Which wacom tablet?

I've decided to get a tablet but I'm confused by the options. The usual photographic applications and I do a bit of painting in photos that need it. Since I've used a mouse for so long I'm thinking a smaller one will work best, maybe a 4 x 6. In shopping I see different models, Intuos, etc. What does one offer over the other? Any info would be appreciated.

p.1 #2 · Which wacom tablet?

Most people (Many?) seem to like the smaller tablets best. In my case the 4 x 6 Intuos (1024 pressure levels) works better than the 6 x 8 Graphire3 Wireless (512 pressure levels). Desk space is a problem with the larger tablets which do appeal to those who went to art school and were taught to draw with large, sweeping lines; but I work with smaller strokes and am completely happy. I do like the larger pressure level choice of the Intuos (1024) rather than the 512 levels of the Bamboo and Graphire3. YMMV
But it really saves on the carpal tunnel bit; having had carpal surgery on both wrist and elbow before I gravitated to the tablet, I can only say I wish I had gone to the tablet much sooner.
