p.1 #1 · Flash bracket with Arca-swiss adapter

I am looking for a fairly inexpensive flash bracket that will attach to my ballhead for those situations where I want some fill flash directly over my camera but I want to use a tripod. I know I can spend $250 and get this but I do no want to.

The Strobframe camera-flip model I use has a 1/4" - 20" thread on the bottom for attachment of a QR plate or directly to a tripod with a 1/4" stud. I use mine on the tripod even without a flash to allow me to flip the camera into portrait mode without it hanging sideways and lower off the tripod. It's more convenient and raises the effective height of the tripod a few inches.. You and see it one the tripod in this shot from one of my Canon tutorials.

I also use it that way with my "ladder-quad-pod":

The caveat regarding that bracket is that on a tripod there is a good bit of flex in bracket and movement of the camera if a long heavy lens is used. That's only really a problem if shooting where floor or ground movement will cause the tripod to oscillate.

Just so I understand this Chuck (I think you have the Pro-T correct?). With that model I can attach a QR plate to it and then mount it on my ballhead?

MIne is the basic (i.e. cheapest) camera-flip model, not the Pro-T.

Yes you can attach the QR plate.
