p.1 #1 · The remarbables NZ

taken from NZ top ski field areas of coronet peak. we had dinner here waiting for the best light. this area is just north of queenstown. the landscape here is fantastic. the southern alps are directly behind us to ehich coronet is the starting point.
the location in the bottom of the frame is also the location of our balloon ride the very next morning.
will post some of those shortly

What a superb view. I wouldn't mind having dinner there!
I can't agree with the HDR look, to me it looks entirely natural.

dont you swear at me
its not an HDR, none of my pictures are produced with such methods. only very careful exposure control with either grads or some times blends.

with a campstove in tow you canhave dinner where ever you want, this really helps with being at the right place at the right time, knowing you havent go to get back for a meal.

just out of interest to some, if you follow the shadow line of the mountain (bottom right) in to the corner they filmed the `white horses` scene in pt1 of the LOTR. shot over canyon.

this area is where a large majority of scences where filmed, 8 in total.

What a spectacular view! I can see why they chose the area for LOTR!
Fine work, Simon!

Very nice scene and great exposure. Is that a lake or a river to the left?
