Should i pick up a use canon 5d, or wait for the 5d markII

Get the 5D if you need it, you can always sell it when you have the 5DII.
Used 5D's price is quite low now, so you will not lose a lot of money.....

Well, if you read my other thread,you would see that a lot ppl suggested that i should pick up the 5d, and I get one used for about 1700, and then sell my 40d

You can get a used 5D on ebay with cashback for $1200 - thats some crazy deal and nothing in that price range will give you the same quality image.

Uh, the other thread? I didn't see any mention of another thread in your post here.

For some purchasers a used or new 5D could be an excellent choice. For others a new 5DII could be a better choice. There is no one correct answer to this question absent some background information about your situation, intentions, and expectations.
