This guy spent the winter in northern New Jersey (at the Celery Farm). We thought he'd be a goner but he survived by rooting bullfrogs out the muck in the Allendale Brook. We watched him skate on the pond looking for fish through the ice; even the gulls thought he was nuts.

nice one Bob.....they do seem quite adaptive.
Wonder why he wintered like that....does he fly well?

may be out of frequent flyer miles
