p.1 #1 · Problems with LightRoom

Using LightRoom 2.1, I have 2 problems that someone may be able to help me solve.

Filters
When selecting NONE, LR will show me all the pictures in a folder, without applying any filter - this is good. However, if I click on a filter type like ATTRIBUTES after selecting NONE, all the filters I have set before selecting NONE will be back in force. Is there a way to reset all filters for good ?

Delete
Deleting pictures from the disk takes forever... about 5 minutes for 82 pictures - it makes no sense !. Catalog of 23,000 photos, Vista 32 bit, fast computer in good working order, 3GB RAM and lots of disk space, disk not fragmented.

New to LR and beside those 2 problems, I like it a lot. I come from iMatch and this is a big improvement.

Can somebody help ?

Is your recycle bin by chance full? on the beta version of lightroom two I had to empty my recycle and the deleteing worked fine. You could watch it slow down if I deleted a big mess of files (800+) the first 1-200 would tick right down but then it would start to slow, empty the recycle bin and it speeds right back up. Worth a shot.

Thanks for the tip Eric. The recycling bin was quite full but still a lot of space left. I emptied it anyway and I'm not sure it helped. However, rebooting seems to have improved speed. Would LR 2.1 be a memory hog ?
