p.1 #1 · Sugar Crystals - MP-E65mm

Sugar (in the raw) Crystals shot with a Canon 5D and an MP-E65mm macro lens.

I shot 16 images bracketing the focal point and used CS4's DoF stacking capability to create the final result.

(a.k.a. "focust stacking", "auto-blend focus", "auto-blend stacking")

(I would have inserted the pic in this posting but I couldn't figure out how.)

I'm going to try some HTML here and see if it works:

Try it without the image tags, only your url.

Cool shot and obviously a lot of work. I really like it but it seems a tad soft to me. Perhaps just a lack of sharpening in post? With that combo, your images sure should be sharp.

Again, cool photo. One day I'd like to play around with that lens. I hear it can be frustrating!

Good one - stack worked well - interesting to see the cs4 stacking in operation.
