For the last 3 days I went out for birding but the first two days,I came
home with no shot. Yesterday,I went to Big Morongo and Covington Park
right next to it. At Big Morongo, I only got some wood pecker shots but they
weren't good enough to keep. When I was walking up to the parking lot,I saw
a group of female bird watchers. I asked them if they had seen bluebirds at
Covington Park. One lady said to me "yes" while she was smiling. I then asked her
exactly where in the park they saw the bluebirds."Righ over there",she said, pointing at the thick trees area.
Not only I got some bluebird shots at Covington park but I also go some luck to
get close to a Northern Flicker. The last one I think is an American Robin, isn't it?Finally I got some shots.
Nice series Hide. #2 Flicker shot is stunning and I too really like #3 showing the beautiful wing pattern and coloring. Of the bluebirds #7 is most pleasing to my eye. And congrats on your Robin shot too!

Beautiful series, and I like # 3 where you can see the colors of the wing
Thanks, Lars. This Northern Flicker looked to be really peaceful and relaxed
and I was lucky enough to catch some of his ungaurded moments.

Thank you, Karl. I wasn't actually looking for Northern Flicker but I was looking for
Bluebirds. But this bird flew by. Lucky day for me. And actually I needed some luck to capture some descent Northern Flicker shots.

Wonderful series Hide
I have a feeling you'll get all my birds cause they sure have left my area....
Lil - - taking a break from her cleanup job after the firestorms - - so no picks... sorry
Lil,
Everybody is ok? That was some firestorms and I heard that some teenagers might've started the fire. God bless you guys and the birds will be back.

Dan
Thanks, Dan. Northern Flicker and Bluebird are on my top list to catch and though
I had a feeling that I might be able to catch some Bluebird shots,I never imagined
that I'd be able to get Northern Flicker shots. I needed some luck and I got it that day.
Hide, your series here is great!!! The lighting in these shots is very good! I especially enjoy the first two flicker photos, because the lighting and exposure in them is outstanding. Nice going!!!

Thank you, Ken. Actually I got one in-flight shot accidentally, but it wasn't in focus.

Thank you,Nello. On that day, I saw those flickers flying by several times but
they would never let me get close. I got some luck to be able to capture some
flicker shots.

Thank you, Brenton. Although the sun was behind me,the shadow area on the bird
looked to be a bit too dark, so I used fill flash . I was at the other side of the bird (facing the sun) so I walked around slowly to the other side. I thought he'd be gone but surprisingly he was still there. Talk about luck.
