I sold my 400 DO and my 600 and replaced them with the 800. I love the 800 and wouldn't dream of parting with it but I'm starting to miss the 400 DO. Has anyone else here sold their 400 and are now having regrets?
I don't have a DO anymore, and I just bought the 200 f2 IS, so i hope it will be my DO replacement for now
All of you to pay for the 800mm are insane..
Lets see a 200 f2 is $5000.00...that's $25.00 per mm
An 800 is $11,500..that's $14.38 per mm.....hummm!!!
Wow, this sounds like the rich guy thread. 400 DO, 500 f/4, 600 f/4, 800 f/5.6. Sounds like entry price to post is at least $5K. I'm too cheap to be able to post in here.

I haven't taken the leap yet but I'm getting to the point where I'm thinking that life is too damn short to worry about whether you've spent too much on a supertele. Just enjoy. (Although I'd have to say the 800 would be an exception at this point. )
Thank goodness a burglar this week missed mine. I shoot exclusively day light, outdoors and hand held. 400mm with the occasional 1.4 TC is the perfect range for me.

Even the 500mm is too short for Tanzania, but you have been there so many times...
