But they didn't reveal their methods. Did they drum scan or flatbed scan the film? How did they RIP the files? I'm not trying to defend the film image, but processing details are important in a test like this, no?

Besides what turnert said, I have noticed the same with my digital files too. I just don't see a need for film anymore. I get better image quality and I for sure enjoy the process of digital files. I think film will slowly pass along as the next generation of cameras are released. There is no need anymore for film IMHO.

That was kinda funny

I don't find the results surprising in the least though. I would guess if they are going to the expense of having that image printed on that printer then they are also going to the expense of having the best or nearly the best drum scan possible.
