p.1 #1 · Wildlife with 5D MkII?

This has been discussed in the Canon gear forum I'm sure, but did anyone here get to see the images posted by Romy Ochon using the pre-production 5D MkII?

Sure the AFand frame rate are significantly slower than the 1D series, but OMG the image quality and cropablity looks pretty promising. If you scroll further down the thread he posted another heavily cropped image form the 21Mp MkII file.
Maybe time to start saving a bunch of pennies.

I'm far from the most discerning photographer in this forum, but even his touched-up version that's in the original post seems soft to me. That's probably a combination of the TC, f/18, and the high ISO.

Yeah, just a tad soft. He shot with the Sigomonster at 800mm with a 2X !!

Seems like a capable camera body. Just put the appropriate lens on and aim it at some wildlife. Walla!

It's the photographer, not the camera.

I got some very nice shots from my XTi, and the 5D mk2 shoots faster then that. For an image shot at ISO 3200 that is awesome!!!

holy smokes. those 3 sample images just blows me away. i'm going to have to email santa an updated xmas list! i'm curious as to the autofocus ability. i'm currently using a canon 20D so it's gotta be better than that.
