Winter has officially arrived in West Virginia. Went for a little drive today, not to really take photos, but as I got farther and farther away from home the snow kept getting deeper and deeper. Up to one foot in places! Below are some images from my little adventure. Go back just 18 days and I was shooting the beautiful Fall color at these locations. C&C Welcome!
It is #2 for me as well.
What a mood. You can feel the cold
I would love to go back, visit and see this place.
West Virginia is my dad's home state and haven't been there in about 30+ years.
His neck of the woods was Doddridge County.
Thanks again guys. The NRG is impressive in the Fall, but seeing the snow covered trees was just amazing and the conditions have to be just right for it to happen. I think it is going to be a great winter!
I can feel the cold and hear the silence. Wonderful mood and light in these, Walter, especially the first 2. Nicely done. Glad you took the camera along
Wow...talk about briging back memorys. My father actually had to dive into New River. The reason was at a picnic when I was a baby, I went missing and my Dad found me floating down New River on my back......happy as a clam.
I love the last shot! We have received very little snow up here in Alberta, and none of it has stayed yet. It's crazy. I bet we are going to have a vicious horrible winter when it does hit.
The first would be stellar if you were able to get right into the middle of the creek. I can understand why you didn't, though! I look forward to more winter shots from you.
I was shooting from a bridge but just didnt think to take a shot from the center this time. I usually get a few angles in, but I was kind of pressed for time as I wanted to get to Hawks Nest which is the second photo before sunset. I guess its supposed to be a bad winter, and its already looking like it down here. Thanks for looking!
