p.1 #1 · Revising my Website ~ C&C if you're bored
hey guys and girls, i am currently revising my site for a new re-launch in 2009.
Come check out what I have so far and let me know what you think.
There is not much there yet, just my home page & homepage slideshow
My music, empty galleries, contact section, investment section & blog link
I have a few things hidden as I am taking on a partner in 2009 and don't want to show those parts just yet.

Yeah I don't care for the music either, it's amateur hour electronica IMO (BTW I listen to a lot of trance/ house etc.). Doesn't fit a wedding in my mind.. but it's your site and your clients and you may choose whatever style you like. I personally don't have the cajones to load an electronic song on my (upcoming) website either.
The leadoff image is so high key, that it looks like she's topless at first, due to the shape of her arm + chest against the outline of her dress top. I also don't care for the vertical size of the page since I had to scroll down to see the links.
Everything should fit in a 1024 x 768 layout, which presumably is the smallest desktop one would commonly encounter today (or if you want extra-safe, 800x600). Some of that is the blu template, which you may not be able to control.

Not looking at anyone else's critique.
First impression:
Images are great. Layout is nice and buttons all seem to work.
Music is too in your face. If you're gonna do music on your site, I'd consider something a little more neutral in appeal. It's very attitudy. Good but not marketable to all.

Thanks for the critique guys & gals
I have changed my first image to one that is not so high key
as for the music, i usually get ripped on this, but it's my style. it also reflects the style of the couples i want to work with. if they are gonna be stuffy & boring and want to listen to songs about people in love then they can go to the next guy. i want couples that are going to have fun, that want to be in front of the camera, and that realize spend $2500+ on photo's where they stand and look at the camera is a big waste of money.
from what i can gather site design and photo's are good, so again thanks for the c&c

I know what you mean, but the music is still really bad. Try and pick something a bit more professional - it sounds amateur hour.

Good on you- I like it! Good presentation overall...one suggestion is I would like to very simply be able to look at any of he our shots without having wade thru the galleries.
I like your style, being different is cool!

Can't view using Firefox browser. IE may work, but not Firefox. What about Safari for Mac users? Just my initial roadblock for now. Link works, but I don't see any thing, so FYI only.

The layout and stuff is cool, I agree with most of the music critics. We are just like you and do not want clients that want mom and pop shots, but I do not care for the music. I have a friend though that is very modern (great photographer!) and attracts super cool clients that pay him big bucks and he has similar music. Go figure! I would, though, try and appeal to those that may not like the tunes, but like your photography.
What I see that is missing from the site is you. Many photographers do not have, or have a limited about section. Wedding photography is personal and intimate, so you want people to be able to get to know you through the site and begin to like you already. Check out www.Jasmine-Star.com to see what I mean. She is really engaging you with her personality on that site and this is a killer marketing tool that most of us are not using!
Not sure if you were looking for this type of feedback, but on the pricing side, I would think on the idea of not padding your packages with so much stuff right off the top. That way, clients will see that the value is you and your awesome photography, and not in the product alone. Although, if you are selling that top package most of the time, then you are on the right track, but if clients consistently choose the lowest priced package, I would guess it may be due to them getting it all right there at the beginning. We changed our pricing this way and all our clients stopped getting the lowest package and started getting the middle and upper packages right away.
