Would not have to be any larger (talking about the lower cushion only) than the foam there. If you have ever seen those cushions for wheel chairs that have chambers that shift air so that you don't get sores that is what I was thinking.

While not as glamorous or compact as the other offerings, I've been using these chairs for couple years. Definately softer than most, rocks back for closer shots, can be flipped 180 for a lower profile. Great chairs - just not as portable if you need to check it in luggage.

Having shot from one of his chairs, let me tell you, it may not look glamourous, but it's much better than sitting on the ground, and the fact you can lean WAY back (but not too far!) to get a wider/closer shot and then resume to normal without killing your back is fantastic.

Now only if they had a gimble system to hold the 1D/70-200/2.8 combo for the 5+ hours of shooting....

No question on comfort I had one to play vid games way back when. As big and hard as it is I doubt any ref would let that be on the end line.

FWIW, I know for a fact you can buy small pieces of the "memory foam", so it can't be too difficult to find one and cut it to size.

As for the blow-up idea, I'm guessing in order to make the blow-up seat large enough to support we full-sized grown-ups (like Matthew, I'm also not small) the seat would be HUGE, and would never be allowed on any NCAA or Pro baselines. Even my traditional SportSeat feels big when you're stacked 2 or 3 deep under the basket.

I will have to look for some of that memory foam. I believe your right they do offer that at like target/walmart.

Check out www.PromoChair.net. I've bought 2 of these and use them at NCAA & pro BB games.

They run about $40 each. (You may have to go thru a promotional advertising company to buy just one.)

They are great for basketball because they have a steel frame with rubber feet and the back locks open so it won't close everytime you get up.

Hope this helps!

Have to say I bought the seat at floorseating.com and wow.. what a difference supper support and very comfortable. The folding option is nice for travel to venues too. I bought the "extra" back cushion and actually use it for a little extra paddin on the bottom.
