I have been deciding between these 3 primes => 35L, 50L, and 85L to add to my kit. There has been many very interesting posts regarding these lens recently.

Thanks to all the info in these various posts, I have decided to bite the bullet and get the 85L, the speciality lens to create dreamy portraits. Of course with this decision, my piggy bank isn't up to snuff so I have to wait.

Until then, please post photos from this lens, various photos, various apertures to help me continue to add money to my piggy bank until I can get mine. My personal use would be weddings and pet portraits, but I'd like to see all kinds of photos from this lens.

Thank you

Search is your friend...seems like I can recall at least three or four really good 85L picture threads from the past few months.

Good luck!!

Here's some dog photos. If I remember correctly, they're all shot @ f/1.2 - I hardly ever use any other aperture with this lens

Peter, the 85L ll in my opinion is a excellent lens, a little hard to get used to because it has the ability to have such a shallow dof. this lens will almost create light! its a little slow to focus, but you will get used to it. here is one of my wife with window light in late afternoon, and the other 2 are web site shots for my friends store, all with only window light in a dark store. have fun with it when you get it. you could also check out the 135L if the FL is right for you, its a great lens also, and can be had from the buy and sell for under $1000.00!

James.
