p.1 #1 · Tenba Med Shootout Sling Bag

I can't find this bag anywhere in Vancouver. I think the only place that actually sells it is in Toronto all the way in the east coast.

Has anybody played with this bag yet?
Are you able to dump a DSLR body with a 70-200 straight down into it, or lay it across?
I can get my hands on the Lowepro 300AW because this bag is everywhere, but I like what the Tenba has to offer.

EDIT: Wrote a small review to hopefully answer some of those dieing questions you want to hear.

Ordered fr Vistek in Toronto and should be here by 17/11/08.
plan to use it with my 200mm F2 and D3
also you maybe interested on the Kata 3N1- 30, just got it fr Henry's and they price matched with the Vistek (179 vs 119), great bag and I carry my D3/24-70mm/70-200mm/85mm 1.4/20mm 2.8/SB900/SB400 with no problem.

see the video for the smaller one 3N1-20

BTW, the Tenba come with 2 sizes, medium and small, check it out on Vistek website.
I guess you also watched the video about the Tenba slingbag, that is why I like this bag because I can dump my D3 with 200/F2 straight down into it, the 70-200 should be Ok too.

-I watched the video, but it didn't tell me if they tested a medium or a small?
-I like the weather sealing and how you can dump a huge lens straight down, nice bonus.
-I can't tell, but the sling bag side pocket looks small, much smaller then the lowepros. Can you pleaseconfirm when you get the bag?
-Can you please post some images of your D3 and a 70-200 with a couple other lenses in the medium bag.

Thanks Tom!

The Kata 3N1 looks pretty complicated to use. I'll defiantly give it a test run though!

I don't see how I can throw a 5D + 70-200 2.8 if it only fits a body and midrange lens. Looks like I'm going to have to lay it across

Any if this is the case you might as well get the Lowepro toploader because you have to gut the inside to get it o fit. I have a Lowepro flipside that works great. I can have my 100-400 or 20-200 attached and have a couple other lenses stored. I do like the looks of this bag though and would like to see more.

So Vistek is the only store in Canada that carries Tenba bags and they don't even know when they'll get it in.

I've phoned a couple places in the states and they have tons laying around. Someone's gotta have this bag on the board

I ordered the bag last week and it finally came in yesterday. First impression is very good, feels great, materials used feel solid! I'll do a full review on the weekend

Would this bag allow me to carry both my D300 and D700 as well as the 70-200 f/2.8, 24-70 f/2.8, 14-24 f/2.8, and SB900? Preferably with the 24-70 mounted to one body.

I've never owned any Nikon's in my life, you can totally get away with it. Depending on the size, I was able to fit a 17-40 and a 35-75 attached to a body into one compartment and the 70-200 alone on the right side. Check the 70-200's length, and make sure it's not bigger then ~8.3inches, or it won't fit straight down on it's own. I found if you mounted the 70-200 onto the body you can then lay it across, but not straight down.

If not, then you can probably stuff both lenses into the main area and just hold the body above. Here's a photos of my EOS3 in the top compartment
