p.1 #1 · Water and fall color

I found a little time to get out over the weekend and was happy with the color I could still find here in WI. We're just past peak where I'm located.

looks like you have pretty good fall colors there in WI.

I like it, but the bright sky at the top is a bit of a distraction.
I would crop it to 4 x 5, say 20% off of trees so sky is less.
Shutter speed a little slow as the swirl at the foreground would be nice if sharper.
Thanks for posting

Dan makes some great points in his message. I might not crop as much as he is suggesting, but definately crop so you get the majority of the sky out of the shot. In the bottom corner, the other option would be to shoot even slower so there is a distinct pattern made by the moving leaves. Look at Bart Carrig's recent post, he captured that movement perfectly.

I do like what you captured here. It's a pleasing scene, with a few minor mods, it will really shine!

It's a classic fall scene, with a nice capture of the bend. I agree, I'd crop a little off the top. And it does seem a tad soft, but sharpening is a challenge with so many fine areas in the leaves. Selective or brush sharpening (with a plug-in) can be fast and effective. The bottom left is a little dark and could use a little pop.

But these comments do not diminish the fact that it is a very nice fall scene presentation.
