I was a few days short of catching the full moon from Steptoe Butte on the Palouse last month, but this almost full moon rose and cleared the haze just moments after the sun went down. Full disclosure: I did increase the size of the moon by about half a diameter. Dave
Fantastic stuff Dave. I'd rank this up with my favourties of your's from this area! Love the feeling this shot evokes and as John said, the glow is great!

Thanks, Anthony...amazing what some dust and a few fires can add to a scene, hunh? Dave

Not due to any great moral fiber: it's just easier than remembering any BS I've left lying about! Thanks, Phil...I appreciate it. Dave

Hi, Ute...glad you like it. A bit of bait for the Great Northwest? Maybe... Thanks. Dave

Thanks, David! I'm glad there wasn't much in the way of clouds: kept my attention on more important things. Dave

great light - not the most dramatic landscape ever, but sometimes too much drama gets boring.
Interesting point of view. Thanks. Dave

Magical warm light! I love how the whole point of this composition depends on that high, warm-toned harvest moon.
After the harvest, they burn the wheatstraw. It burns pretty fast, so not much smoke. However, there're a lot of farms in a large area, so the smoke and dust are enough to turn the light soft and warm, but not too hazy. Thanks, Hazel! Dave

Great light and composition. You captured a great moody picture!
Thanks, Stan...I had almost forgotten that this was on the disk I burned from my trip. I love shots that jump out at you after you've mentally misplaced them. Dave
