Well, as stated in the title I would like happy owners of both bodies to post side by side comparison shot to evaluate how the D90 perofrms in low and high ISO vs. its great brother the D300.
I know that the D90 will have slower AF and FPS than the D300, but I am more interested in the photo results, and how while having hte same sensor, Nikon might have tweaked the D90 to make it as weaker performer than the D300; and if so, then in which conditions.
Thanks for those who will psot here, as it will help me to take a decision: D90 or D300.
Well I've no idea what the image quality is but I have to say this:
When someone tries to decide between a D90 and a D300, image quality is not exactly the issue, is it? The D300 is about 30-40% more expensive, has better build, better AF, better viewfinder, faster FPS, meters with AI/AIS lenses and so on. On the other hand the D90 is cheaper, a tiny bit smaller and lighter and can record video.
If anything, I'd actually expect the D90 to be a "better" performer with straight JPGs as it is more consumer oriented and has the newest JPG engine.
In any case, the photo results can and will be excellent and any differences will be splitting hairs at the measureberating level.

I knew about AF FPS, etc... as there are usually not factors that will impact the type of photos I am shooting. However, I am not shooting jpg, neither, so I am sitting between 2 chairs, D90 for the price and being more user-friendly in many aspect, and better performance of the D300. SO that's why I would like to get a ISO comparison, as all otehr point and differences are already identified and balanced regarding my personal usage.

In my opinion there will be no difference in image quality and even if there is a small difference then I think usability should take precedence over 0.3 of a stop of high ISO performance. If usability isn't that important to you, then get the D90, otherwise if you're like me, then get the D300.
I'm using the D300 simply because it can use AIS lenses as I really like the Zeiss and Voigtlander lenses. I actually purchased the D90 but realized that I would be missing out on some great glass.
For all intents and purposes image quality difference should be negligable if you learn how to use the cameras properly.
