Strange how some larvae look so much alike yet the adult form is completely different...there's evolution for you Do any of these look dark to you guys? These didn't seem overly dark to me but now that you plant the idea I am not so sure. #3 is maybe a bit dark but honestly I don't think it's a problem. sometimes you can't do anything about the light. shot-to-shot consistency has never been a strong suit for me (whether the light changes or not) Oct 07, 2008 at 03:25 PM

What I found very strange, aside from the body structure and shape, is the way the snail-like head is able to retract back into the body--I've never seen it in any other land based insect besides a snail or slug.
