I got my cards back from the primaries today and have been going through my takes. It was (in my opinion) my best wedding of the year. Here are some more from the day. Any comments would be very much appreciated.
oooooh this is why I hate "just one's" ... and one image posts.... it's such a teaser.... this is good... and likely to spark yet another discussion on why the headless people.... allow me to be the first to say I love it. Plus isn't this more about the old chevy truck than the people ? HA
my nit: POST more danged photos.... AND ... better yet. Share a bit about what you learned 2nd'ing .... elaborate my friend!
I think it's just ok. Cutting off the heads doesn't really work in this case, especially when the poses are not quite making the mark. His arm is reaching out too far and the way she's resting against the car is making her dress flatten and her lower half dumpy and shapeless.
Keep up the high energy and I'm sure I'll be seeing more of your work.
Thanks for the comments. I will definitely post more from this wedding. I don't have most of my cards back from the primaries yet
One of the best parts about seconding was the chance to look at things from another perspective. I'm typically so caught up with the standards that it was nice to spend a day shooting the little nuances of the day. It really challenged me to make sure I make time to do some of this when I'm the primary.
I also got to experience the wonderful world of primes. The first shooter uses 90% natural light with a vast set of primes. By having such a minimal amount of gear I feel like he was able to connect more with his clients. This is something I want to implement. To make good photos that matter you can't only be thinking about lighting, exposure, white balance, etc. You need more time to wait for the moment.
