I also have the 2220 with the Arca-Swiss B1. Great combo.
The B1 is the "clamp" or "grabber", but it needs an appropriate plate to grab on to. You can buy one that fits the bottom of the camera or one that fits the tripod mount on your 70-200 lens. RRS, Kirk and other companies make these plates, as well as lots of other ways to connect the different parts.
I have a RRS L bracket on my 10D - this is a winner. The B1 could support everything flipped over, but the L bracket is really a better solution.
RRS also makes a plate specifically for the 70-200 2.8 . I have this one and it works fine. I'm sure others make one too, but I can vouch for the RRS stuff and tell you that it works great.
