p.1 #1 · Morning Fog

Does this work? I tried to leave it a little blurred to exaggerate the fog, but still bring the steeple out enough.

It looks a little flat to me - played a bit using LightZone to try to add some depth yet save atmosphere - don't know if this is what you envisioned or not..

I think it does, 'though I like Bob's re-work more.
One note: on the far right there is a distant tree, partially blocked almost with a horizontal line by a closer, darker pine. The contrast between them is amplified in Bob's re-work and now looks odd. Just the way the trees were, but if you were to use Bob's suggestion, I'd mask the effect at those two trees.

It is nice. Nice mood and interesting. The soft on church and middle ground works well for me.

The missing base of the right (under steeple ) tree and the left foreground tree out of focus is distracting to me.

Does it work? Yes, it is pretty nice. I actually like the "flatter" image. I sort of wish the pine on the left was a little less imposing and perhaps 1/3 less visible.

Thanks guys.

I purposefully left it flat to try and replicate the scene; fog doesn't make a scene nice and contrasty.

I agree about the pine on the left, problem was if I moved to the right I got other buildings and I only wanted the church. I tried to de-emphasize it by letting it go out of focus.

I'll see if I get another opportunity to rework this a little.

Can you back up a little and use a longer lens? I'd hate for you to lose that pretty tree below the steeple.
