p.1 #1 · Billingham Photo Eventer

it looks like very nice one, compared to the 335 it seems less bulky. anyone have any experience with this one. i was planning to buy the 335 but saw this one. the strange thing is that it look like laptop bag because it looks in the photos very thin to carry all equipment mention here : http://www.rtsphoto.com/html/bill12.html
also the Hadley Large seems to carry alot as well. so now i am between photo eventer, Hadley Large, 335 . also thinking about the 445 but i am worried about the bulkiness.
thanks for your insight.

I have a 335 and 445 and also really like the way the Eventer looks. I plan to try one. It seems to be tall and deep, which I'm not sure how much I would like for the many small lenses I have (85, 50, 35 for example). How would you carry those...stacked with a pad in-between? Anyway, I'll most likely get one and see, return it if not up-to-snuff. I really like the 335 and 445 too...the 335 is nice for a 1D body and 4 small-normal lenses. The rest of the junk in the pockets. Nice bag for a day trip.

And the Eventer never seems to be in-stock anywhere...that has been my hold up on trying one.

And of course, no other bag out there made like Billingham.

OK, well, I took a pic for you. This is a 335 with the top flaps tucked back for easy access to the bag's contents...very handy when shooting and switching out lenses. This pic is taken with the 50L which is usually where that 70-200 2.8 IS is now sitting. I traded it out with the 70-200 so you could see a bigger lens in the bag. It has the hood on and reversed.

The bag will zip up no problem with the top of the lens flush to the top of the bag, basically a perfect fit. The other lenses in there are a 35L, an 85L, and a 135L, all with hoods on. The empty space to the right in where the 1DsMk3 with an L-Bracket attached goes. A very nice fit for this kit...not squished and no extra sloppy room to get rid of. You could most likely do a better job with dividers, but these work just fine. The dividers that come with the bag are nice but have one big space and one little space for who know what...so I use other dividers instead.

The rest of the stuff, batteries, extra cards, blower, cable release, little flashlight, and that sort of misc junk, goes in the front pockets. And you will have another bag sized pocket that is about 1"-1 1/2" deep for other stuff. Who know what, wallet, cell phone, whatever. But I really like this bag for a small kit, a day trip, which is exactly what I'm going to be doing shortly. The 445 holds a lot more and is a lot bigger in all directions, but a great bag as well (albeit heavy when stuff full).

I don't personally own any of equipment you name so maybe you can look up the specs and see how big they are compared to what I'm showing here.

thanks alot "MSC" for taking the time for this pic, i really appreciate it. i saw many photos of these bags but all with little gear and not clear to decide, but this pic really gave me clear idea in terms of size. i think what i mention above will fit easily. but it seem that the 445 is better choice for travel so i can add more stuff plus the laptop so i dont have to carry the laptop in other case. but you know the 335 will be a better choice for me because i always carry alot of lenes and use one or two only, so i want to get used to carry less, and this setup might help
